As a pomade lover, I am always trying to find the perfect pomade for my thick hair. I need something that is affordable, keeps my hair perfect, smells great, and has a good shine. I also need my pomade to be affordable, and easy to find. Today, I’m going to review a pomade I came across the other day, Suavecito Pomade Firme.
Suavecito pomade has been a popular pomade for a long time now. Pomade is great for making your hair held in place while giving it a shiny, slick texture. It is a great alternative to mousse, wax, gel, and hairspray.
I was always looking for a great pomade, so I decided to check Suavecito. It is made and distributed out of Santa Ana California. It is a water based pomade product and has great reviews and is a bestseller.
Origin
The company has two different choices, Suavecito Firme Pomade, and Suavecito Original Pomade. I chose the Suavecito Firme Pomade, and for this review, that is what I will be going over.
As mentioned before, Suavecito Firme is a water-based and soluble hair pomade. It is very important that my pomade is scented, and this pomade really delivered. This pomade had a great light scent. It was a perfect balance of noticeable scent, but not too strong. It would be suitable for men or women.
Texture and Consistency
Based on the texture and consistency, I believe it would be great for all hair types, regardless of what style you had your hair. Because I chose the Firme, it really held anything I wanted to do with my hair, which is very important for some hard to maintain styles!
Strong Hold
Suavecito Firme when applied has a very strong hold. It held like a wax, better than a gel or hairspray would, but to my surprise is had little mess when I tried to wash it out. Like most pomades, a few rinses were needed, but it came out great compared to products I have used in the past.
The consistency of the pomade is great, which is very important for those people who need a nice, creamy consistency without it being too greasy.
When it dried, I noticed a nice hard texture, which is perfect for people who want to have hard to maintain styles stay in their hair for a long period of time. I actually rode my bike the day I used it, and despite it being a windy day my hair stayed perfect!
Shiniest Ever
This pomade is best for people desiring some shine in their hair. It wasn’t the shiniest I’ve seen, but it also wasn’t dull. I feel it was a good balance without appearing greasy.
As mentioned before, it washed out very easily. Especially compared to other pomades I’ve used, for how well this holds hair in place, it comes out even easier! I had no problems combing in the product, and despite holding my hair perfect, it was easy to work with and had great to manage.
Whenever I review pomades, I use five key categories to make my decision. The categories are shine, smell, hold, ease of application, and durability.
I gave Suavecito pomade a 4 out of 5 on shine. It had a great shine without being greasy looking.
I gave Suavecito pomade a 3 out of 5 on the smell. It didn’t smell bad, but it was a little strong and may turn off some people if they don’t want their hair to have a strong smell to it.
In terms of hold, I gave this 5 stars. It held for me all day exactly how I wanted it to, and I know that if I use it again it won't let me down. This is hands down one of the best pomades I've ever used in terms of how well it held my style.
I gave this pomade 4 out of 5 stars in this category. It combed in easy and was very workable. Maybe more importantly, it rinsed out very well.
Last but not least, I gave this category 5 stars. Some pomades hold well for a few hours, but start to fade later in the day. Not Suavecito. This pomade held perfect until I decided to wash it out, it might be the best I've ever used in that category.
To review, Suavecito Firme was a great product. Overall, I would give it a 4.5 out of 5. It is my new favorite pomade, and I plan to use it for a long time!
